French Limoges Tazza

A Good French Limoges enameled Tazza centered by a portrait of Diane de Poitiers (1500-1566) after Francois Clouet. Diane de Poitiers was a French noblewoman and prominent courtier. She wielded much power and influence as King Henry II's royal mistress and adviser until his death. Her position increased her wealth and family's status. She was a major patron of French Renaissance architecture. Tazza circa 1870.

Watercolor signed and dated Luigi Bazzani Roma 1883. An interior of a Pompeiian house with columns frescoes and a marble table. The Los Angeles Museum publication of the Pompeii exhibition entitled "Pompeii and the Roman Villa" has a painting by the same artist illustrated as in the Dahesh Museum of Art.
